Needledrop Of The Day - The Replacements - Bastards Of Young (from album Tim - 1985 - Sire Records)

You better believe I still have my Replacements vinyl. I put it aside with a few other titles I swore I'd never get rid of. The Replacements just have to be listened to on a record player. Not a turntable, but a shitty old worn out teenage record player. And that's what I played these on. Bastards Of Young is probably more typical than I would have liked to post up for listening, but so many of their songs are only 1:30-2:00 and I wanted to showcase the sound of this album a little better.

Not much to say that hasn't already been said. The disaffected-youth song of the 80s and beyond. So many "new" bands these days try to emulate The Replacements, but nobody can truly recreate the shambolic beauty of the real McCoy. In my opinions, these guys were never quite the same after they fired Bob Stinson.
